Water Softeners
Installation and servicing of water softeners to reduce limescale in hard water areas.
Overview
Much of London and the Home Counties has hard water, which leaves limescale in kettles, showers and, more seriously, inside boilers and cylinders. A water softener removes the minerals that cause scale. We install softeners on the incoming main, leave a drinking water tap where needed and service existing units.
Common problems we deal with
- Limescale on taps, showers and glass
- Scale reducing boiler and cylinder efficiency
- An existing softener that has stopped working
- Choosing where a softener can be fitted
How the work is done
- Check of the incoming supply, space and drainage
- Agree the unit and position
- Installation with bypass and a drinking water tap where required
- Setup, testing and guidance on salt and maintenance
What you get
- Less limescale across the home
- Protection for boilers, cylinders and appliances
- Bypass fitted for easy servicing
- Clear maintenance guidance
Water Softeners: questions
Can I drink softened water?
Guidance generally recommends keeping an unsoftened tap for drinking and cooking, especially for babies' feeds. We can fit a separate drinking water tap.
